“Knushiyo de Alaymooso 2012” - the Annual Youth Camp of Delhi-Mylapore Dioceses held at Goa from Oct 25th to 27th

PONDA, GOA : “Knushiyo de Alaymooso 2012” the Annual Youth Camp of Delhi - Mylapore Dioceses was held at C.S.I. retreat Centre, Farmagudi - Ponda, Goa. The theme of the conference was “Abide in me and I in you”(St. John 15:4).

His Grace Mor Osthatheos Issac Metropolitan of Mylapore- Delhi Dioceses inaugurated the 3 day camp on 25th of October. Rev. Jacob Joseph Qasheesho (Saji Achen) of Bangalore took classes in the conference. 60 delegates from various churches of the dioceses attended the conference. The members of the camp visited the religious and historic places in Goa. Rev. Eldo Chemmikattu Qasheesho of Bhopal, Rev. Shiju George Qasheesho of Delhi and Rev. Jinu Kuruvilla  Qasheesho of Bhilai lead the discussions and the Bible quiz.

Inauguration of Family Prayer Unit held  at St. Thomas JSO Church, Annanagar,Chennai

H.G.Mor Eustathius Matta Roham, Metropolitan of Jazirah & Euphrates Syrian Orthodox Archbishopric, Syria is currently visiting India and is presently in Chennai. H.G offered Holy Qurbana at St.Thomas JSO Church, Annanagar on 4th March 2012 and H.G. Mor Osthatheos Issac Diocesan Metropolitan of Mylapore Diocese was the co- celebrant. His Grace Mor Eustathius Matta Roham inaugurated the Family Prayer Unit of the Church after the Holy Mass.

Preparations on full fledge to start new congregations & prayer groups under Mylapore Diocese.

CHENNAI:   Under the leadership of H.G Mor Issac Osthatheos & Diocean Council, preparations are on full fledge to start new congregations & prayer groups in different parts of Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh. The Aim of the initiative is to fulfill the spiritual needs of all the Syrian Orthodox faithful in and around Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh. A new church of Mylapore Diocese of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church was inaugurated on Sunday, 27th November 2011 by Mor Osthatheos Isaac, Metropolitan of the Mylapore Diocese. Thirumeni also offered the Holy Qurbana and blessed the faithful prior to the inauguration. The kalpana of His Beatitude Catholicos of India, Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I was read during the Service. The new church is named after Parumala Thirumeni and will be known as 'St. Greogorios Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church'. It will function at YMCA Hall, OMR, Perungudi. Holy Mass will be conducted on every Sunday at 8 a.m. Rev. Fr. Johns Koshy Mannakuzhyil will be the vicar of this church and can be contacted at 97898 59659. Very Rev. K. J. John Corepiscopa of St. Mary’s Church Perambur, Rev. Fr. T. M. Mathews of St. Mary’s Church Kelambakkam, Rev. Fr. Aby Alias of St. Thomas' Church Anna Nagar, and Rev. Fr. Sherrin, St. Mary’s Knanaya Church Pallavaram spoke on the occasion. Rev. Fr. Aby Paul of St. George’s Church Avadi and Rev. Fr. Sibi Paul of St. Thomas Church Anna Nagar were also present. Mr. K.K Thomas proposed vote of thanks. Rev. Dn. Bennet Kuriakose, Rev. Dn. Maju, Rev. Dn. Ebin Alias and Rev. Dn. Alex Paul assisted the Service.

Inaguration of New Congregation at South Chennai

H.G. ISSAC MOR OSTHATHEOS, Metropolitan of Mylapore Diocese will bless the commencement of new congregation by conducting Holy Mass on Sunday, 27th November 2011 at 8 a.m. The service centre of the congregation is located at YMCA Hall, 4/341, OMR, Nehru Nagar, Perungudi, Chennai-41.(SRP Tools Bus Stop, Opp. To Vee Care Hospital, Near Life Line Hospital). Holy Mass in Malayalam will be conducted at 8 a.m. on subsequent Sundays. All our faithful are requested to attend and receive blessings from our Lord Jesus Christ.
