Secunderabad Mor Gregorios Jacobite Syrian orthodox Church was started by a group of nine families in 1976. First Holy Qurbana was celebrated on 26th April 1976 at Wesley C.S.I church. Purchased a land in 1982 and the foundation stone laid by H. G. Dr. Abraham Mor Savarios Metropolitan on 4th November 1983. On 11th November 1984, the church was consecrated by late lamented H. B. Baseliose Poulose II Catholicose and assisted by diocesan bishop late lamented H. G. Thomas Mor Theophilos Metropolitan. On 9th November 2003, the church was renovated and consecrated by H. B. Baselios Thomas I Catholicose, Diocesan bishop H. G. Thomas Mor Themotheos and late lamented H. G. Benyamin Joseph Mor Osthatheos Metropolitan.

The congregation started by nine families in 1976 has now flourished in to a fully pledged church with 160 members and other believers. By the Grace of Almighty God, the Holy Qurbana conducted every Sundays. Now the church has many spiritual activities like retreats, prayer meetings, Bible classes, Sunday school and bimonthly meetings for the Youth and Vanitha Samajam. The parish undertakes various humanitarian activities.

4. St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Perambur

St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church was started in 1971 by Rev. Fr. C. M. Thomas (late lamented H. G. Thomas Mor Osthatheos). The church was constructed by Chev. T. Thomas and Mrs. Elizabeth Thomas at the premises of St. Mary’s School. Rev. Fr. K. J. John is serving the church as the vicar from 1973 onwards. Fr. John was working at St. Mary’s School and retired as principal. All the spiritual organizations such as Sunday School, Vanitha Samajam are actively involving in various spiritual activities. There are about 30 families in the parish and they are strongly participating in various spiritual and charity activities.

5. St. George Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Avadi

St. George Chapel was a project of St. Thomas Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Anna Nagar. Foundation stone was laid by H. G. Issac Mor Osthatheos on 8th April 2010. The land was donated by Mr. V. L. Thomas, Son of late V. T. Lazer who sponsored the land for St. Thomas Jacobite Church, Anna Nagar. Construction was started on 12th of the same month. Consecration of the church was blessed by H. B. Baseliose Thomas I Catholicose and assisted by Diocesan Metropolitan H. G. Issac Mor Osthatheos on 25 and 26th September 2010. This chapel is raised to independent church through the Kalpana ordered by H. G. Issac Mor Osthatheos. Now there are twenty families became members of the church. Apart from regular Holy Qurbana, the church has spiritual activities such as Youth Meeting, Vanitha Samajam, and Sunday school. Cottage Prayer meetings are conducted on alternate Sundays.

St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church was consecrated by H. G. Issac Mor Osthatheos, Metropolitan of Mylapore Diocese on 23rd January 2011. Now the church is having ten families and many nursing students as members. More than fifty members usually come for regular Sunday Qurbana.
